Serves 4–6 · 5–10 min prep · 25–35 min total · 4 steps

Ingredients

Ingredients for Cranberry Sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 12 ounces fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

What the best recipes taught us

  • Use whole cranberries, fresh or frozen. Whole berries burst as they cook, and that is what thickens the sauce.
  • Simmer the berries in water and orange juice. The orange juice cooks with the berries and gives the sauce its flavor.
